Jurrene’s passion for helping others stemmed from her lifelong love of physical activity. Growing up, Jurrene was involved in many sports from Gymnastics, basketball, cross country and track & field.

Through sport, Jurrene learned through her own experiences the turmoil of not being able to return to play especially at the competitive level. It was there her enthusiasm and interests began to grow for rehabilitation.

Jurrene completed a Bachelors of Human Kinetics Degree with honours in Movement Science at the University of Windsor in 2016. She then worked in a private MSK clinic as well as in Seniors Wellness across the GTA post graduation. After a year of working in the private sector, Jurrene moved to the United Kingdom to complete her Masters of Science Degree in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University. Immediately post completing her graduate degree in 2020, she was able to work in the acute care sector in General internal medicine, Respirology, Cardiac-Vascular Surgery ICU and Trauma Orthopaedic floors in the Scotland and Toronto.

Jurrene takes a biopsychosocial approach to her assessments. She believes in discovering the whole picture of an individual in order to go about her treatment plan of care by use of a functional approach to target areas of dysfunction. Her hope is to discover all the factors playing a role in a persons mechanism of injury in order to prevent it from happening again in the future.
